This leading renewable energy company, headquartered in Sydney, is at the forefront of the transition to net zero with its extensive portfolio of onshore renewable projects. They are currently seeking a dynamic Energy Analyst to enhance their Corporate Development team, focusing on expanding their renewable energy asset base across Australia and potentially New Zealand.


Role Overview: The Energy Analyst will play a critical role in identifying and executing investment opportunities in renewable energy assets, including utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects. This role demands a proactive approach to sourcing investments, executing transactions, and driving forward the green transition initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in financial modelling, manage due diligence processes, and assist in structuring transactions to secure investment approvals.

  • Conduct valuation and financial analyses, managing both project and corporate financing arrangements, while continuously updating financial models for the platform’s assets.

  • Prepare detailed market research, investment papers, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work closely with legal and financial advisors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic and efficient transaction execution.


Candidate Profile:


  • Should hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance, or a similar field.

  • Requires 1-2 years of experience in energy investment banking or private equity, with a strong preference for direct involvement in M&A activities.

  • Must have demonstrated experience with green energy projects and a solid understanding of complex financial modelling and valuation concepts.

  • Should exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
